Elsie W. Ritthaler, 94, of 12515 Hubbard Lake Road was called to her heavenly home on Friday morning March 2, 2012. Elsie was born July 7, 1917 to Frederick and Louise Scultz in Ossineke Township. Elsie was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church, becoming a member of God’s family. On Sept. 21, 1933 she married William Ritthaler at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She and William celebrated 72 years of God’s blessings together. She worked as custodian for Alpena Public Schools for 19 years. She was a life- long resident of the Hubbard Lake area where she spent a lot of her time on the farm. When Elsie wasn’t working, she could be found spending time on crafts and flowers or genealogy which she enjoyed most. Elsie is survived by her two daughters; Edith Kollien of Hubbard Lake, Shirley (Pete) Bushey of Clio, five grandchildren; Alan Kollien, Dale Kollien, Jeff Bushey, Tammy Bushey, Scott Kollien, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband. Friends may call on Elsie at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena on Monday from 2-8 p.m with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. In place of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul memorial or building fund, Hospice of Michigan, The Lutheran Hour, Lutheran Bible Translators, or Lutheran Child and Family Services. .
