Charlotte Thompson

Charlotte Thompson, 97, passed away peacefully at Tendercare Alpena where she resided for ten plus years. She was born on November 23, 1914 in Gilford, MI to Justus and Pearl (Cragg) Sleeper. Charlotte married George W. Thompson on February 17, 1937 in Alpena. Together they raised seven children. Charlotte will be forever remembered for her ability to make something out of nothing in the kitchen and her sewing as she was always sewing something for her children. Charlotte had quit a knack for crocheting as well as she won a blue ribbon at the fair for a baby dress. Her warm heart and warm presence will be greatly missed. Surviving are her children; Marion (Gary) Parent of Alpena, Robert (Pat) of Ft. Wayne, IN., Dory Stahl of Alpena, Edith (Anwar) Hussein of Colorado Springs, CO., Linda (Rodney) Lemon of Shiloh, OH., Rose Ann (Donald) Epperson of Greenville, KY. Also surviving is a sister; Aida Hall and two brothers; Arthur (Ruth) Sleeper of Otisville, and Oscar (Bonnie) Sleeper of Lachine, 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded by her husband George on Feb. 1, 1994, a daughter; Jeanette on March 8, 2010, a grandson; Robert Ritthaler on September 12, 2001, three sisters; Alice Fuchs, Beatrice Goodrich, Pearl Amlotte and six brothers; Tharion, Ray, Fred, Cecil and John Sleeper. Charlotte is at McWilliams Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Rev.
